FwboNet specialises in a ‘managed’ web hosting service. Rather than routinely hand over control panels to customers, we perform a number of key set-up and admin tasks for you.
The advantage of this is that you can’t lose administrative control of your site. When login details are lost, you can contact us directly to put things straight. We are also the primary billing contact for your site and it’s services: we collate the costs and invoice you annually. Again, this means that we track down the new billing contact: you won’t find your site’s services terminated because a renewal invoice fell through an admin gap.
When there are technical problems, we intercede with server technicians on your behalf and explain the outcome in digestible terms.
FwboNet is about making the Dharma and related socially responsible services and information available via the Internet. There are no marketing sleights-of-hand, enticements or false promises. You can terminate your service with us at any time and requests to transfer your service elsewhere are honoured without question.
FwboNet is administrated by Satyadarshin, the FWBO’s Internet Worker, based on a business originally started by Upayavira.
The FwboNet Web Hosting business funds centralised FWBO Internet activities. By hosting your website with us, you are also directly supporting the spreading of the Dharma on the Internet.
Direct Internet access: we don’t offer dial-up or broadband Internet connection.
For the most part, we resell services from Fasthosts Internet and use UKReg as our registering agent. We can accommodate some specialist needs via our own webserver.
Your details will be entered onto our database, which automatically generates an annual invoice, about two months before your annual domain name renewal. This is your opportunity to cease your hosting with us. Payment is for one year’s service, in advance.
Advice on search engine optimisation and general web advice is unlimited and free to clients with charitable status.
Server problems are usually handled by Fasthosts Technical Support. FwboNet will engage with you in diagnostic experiments to pin-point a problem and pursue it with Fasthosts Technical Support on your behalf, at no extra charge.
Please note: in our experience Fasthosts have dealt with Support queries quickly and well. We are not currently aware of unresolved server problems or unreliability. However, we are unable to guarantee either the speed or quality of their service in the future.
IMPORTANT: FwboNet cannot be held responsible for server failures, server downtime or mismanagement of server resources by Fasthosts. If your enterprise or business relies heavily on consistent web services or would be damaged by even short periods of server down time, reconsider using FwboNet as your webhost.
We expect any site we host to display content consistent with a reasonable interpretation of the Five (or Ten) Precepts and consistent with relevant local Law. We reserve the right to cease hosting a site we consider fundamentally unethical or illegal.
